Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik is known for its distinctive Old Town, encircled with massive stone walls built in the 16th century. It’s well-preserved buildings range from baroque St. Blaise Church to Renaissance Sponza Palace and Gothic Rector’s Palace, which is now a history museum. Paved with limestone, the well known main street Stradun is lined with shops and restaurants.

Sarajevo and Jahorina

In 1984, Mount Jahorina played host to the world during the Winter Olympics. 35 years later, it remains an excellent destination for winter sport.

Stretching to 1,916 metres above sea level, Jahorina is normally covered in between of one and three metres of snow during the Winter (December to end of March). With 30 kilometres of trails and eight ski lifts (including three new six-seater high-speed lifts), this mountain can host up to 8,500 skiers per hour.

In spite of these excellent facilities and ski fields, Jahorina remains an undiscovered gem of Europe. Avoiding the congestion and high prices of the Alps of Western Europe, Jahorina is a haven for in-the-know skiers and snowboarders.

With equipment hire for only €11 per day and food and drinks payable in the local “Bosnian Marks,” you pay only a fraction of what you would in Austria, Switzerland or France.

New to skiing or snowboarding? Don’t worry, there are slopes for every skill level from the most intense adrenaline junkies to those looking for a gentler ride. The on-site resort also offers ski and snowboard lessons from as low as €11 an hour for group lessons or €25 an hour for individual 1-to-1 sessions.

You shouldn’t miss the visit to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia &Herzegovina, only 29 km away. Due to its long and rich history of religious and cultural diversity, Sarajevo is sometimes called the "Jerusalem of Europe" It is one of only a few major European cities which have a mosque, Catholic church, Orthodox church and synagogue in the same neighbourhood. The architecture, culture and cuisine of Sarajevo are a unique mix of east and west.
